DJA MOND wrapped bronze bushings
PB..AR / FP Series
- CuSn8 Bronze
- Thin-wall design
- Minimum installation space
Wrapped bronze bushings are sliding bearings manufactured from CuSn8 tin bronze strip by rolling or calendering processes. Their thin-wall design minimizes installation space while providing high load capacity, reduced weight and efficient material usage. Lubricant pockets are integrated into the sliding surface to ensure effective lubricant storage and distribution. Compared with turned bushings or rolling bearings of the same shaft diameter and load conditions, wrapped bronze bushings offer a more compact and lightweight solution.
Manufactured entirely from bronze, these bushings are designed for applications requiring relubrication in contaminated environments. Compared with other relubricable solutions (POM multilayer, case-hardened or bimetallic bushings), wrapped bronze bushings are the ideal choice where compact dimensions, resistance to contaminants, shock loads and vibrations are essential.
These DJA MOND bushings are manufactured from CuSn8 tin bronze, a material offering excellent sliding performance with high wear resistance, seizure resistance, high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and a high fatigue strength limit. The recommended housing tolerance is H7, with a 15° chamfer (45° for flanged bushings). After mounting, the internal diameter is within H9 tolerance. The shaft should preferably have a hardness above 50 HRC, a surface roughness of 0.4–0.8 μm and a tolerance class of e7–f7.
Versions
Three designs for every lubrication requirement
Le versioni differiscono per materiale, capacità di carico, temperatura massima e condizioni d’impiego.
PB..AR – Rhombic lubricant pockets
The sliding surface features diamond-shaped lubricant pockets that act as reservoirs, enabling rapid formation of a lubricating film during start-up. Initial pre-lubrication is required during assembly. Diamond-shaped lubricant pockets Pre-lubrication required during assembly
PB..FP - Through holes
Circular through holes are evenly distributed on the sliding surface, acting as lubricant pockets. Compared with the AR version, they provide longer service life and extended lubrication intervals, allow the use of a wide range of lubricants and collect dust and wear particles within the holes. Through holes Extended lubrication intervals
PB..ARG – Solid lubricant-filled pockets
Similar to the AR version, with solid lubricant inserted into the diamond-shaped pockets, ensuring good lubrication conditions during start-up even without oil supply. Integrated solid lubricant Oil-free start-up
Performances
Design and performance features
Soluzioni progettate per durare, ridurre la manutenzione e mantenere prestazioni costanti.
Installation space
Thin-wall design, minimum installation space With the same shaft diameter and load conditions, these bushings require less installation space than turned bushings or rolling bearings, providing weight savings and reduced material consumption.
Load
Maximum load capacity High load capacity despite the thin-wall design, combined with easy machinability of the sliding surface for the creation of lubricant pockets or lubrication grooves.
Lubrication
Continuous lubrication required They provide long service life, protection against shaft corrosion and resistance to dust and foreign particle ingress. Grease lubrication is recommended for moderate operating conditions, while oil lubrication is suitable for bushings with smooth surfaces, lubrication grooves or cap-shaped lubricant pockets.
Applications
Ideal for contaminated environments with shocks and vibrations Machinery operating under severe conditions, including agricultural machinery, lifting systems and construction equipment.
Mounting
Bushing installation
The bushing must be installed in a housing with an H7 tolerance or tighter, incorporating a 15° chamfer (45° for flanged bushings) to facilitate installation. Once installed, the joint line must be positioned opposite the load direction. After press-fitting, the bushing internal diameter will conform to H9 tolerance.
Installation Mounting
- Insertion into the housing with lead-in chamfer15° chamfer (45° for flanged versions) on the housing to facilitate installation.
- Joint line orientationThe joint line must be positioned opposite the direction of the applied load. After installation, the internal diameter will conform to H9 tolerance.
