DJA MOND Case-hardened bushings

Case-hardening treatment: HRC 58–62

  • Tough core
  • Relubrication every 550 hours

BAC.. Series

Case-hardened bushings are made from case-hardened and quenched steel. The combined case hardening, quenching and tempering treatments provide a high surface hardness (HRC 58–62), while maintaining a tough core capable of absorbing shocks and mechanical loads. DJA MOND BAC case-hardened bushings are designed for demanding applications requiring excellent wear resistance, high load capacity and long operating life, even in harsh working conditions.

BAC steel bushings are subjected to case hardening, quenching and tempering processes, achieving a case depth of 0.8–1 mm and a final hardness of HRC 58–62 after finish grinding. This dedicated manufacturing process provides excellent wear and seizure resistance, ensuring reliable and precise operation even under the most demanding industrial conditions. Compared with other relubricable bushings (POM multilayer, bronze wrapped or bimetallic solutions), case-hardened bushings are the ideal choice where maximum wear and seizure resistance, combined with a tough shock-resistant core, are required.

The construction tolerances are u6 for the outer diameter and C8 for the inner diameter. The relubrication interval can reach up to 550 hours after the first greasing, depending on operating conditions and the application environment.

Performances

Design and performance features

Soluzioni progettate per durare, ridurre la manutenzione e mantenere prestazioni costanti.

Benefit

Case-hardened steel surface hardness

HRC 58–62 after finish grinding Each BAC case-hardened bushing is made from quenched steel. The HRC 58–62 hardness is achieved through case hardening (case depth 0.8–1 mm), quenching and tempering processes, while the tough core provides excellent shock absorption and resistance to mechanical stresses. These hardened bushings maintain high operating precision and dimensional stability throughout their service life.

Benefit

Resistance

Excellent resistance to wear and seizure The manufacturing process ensures reliability, precise operation and long-term operational continuity, even in the most demanding industrial applications.

Benefit

Friction

Reduced surface roughness The reduced surface roughness achieved after machining contributes to lowering the friction coefficient, improving sliding efficiency and smooth running performance.

Benefit

Maintenance

Following initial greasing, BAC case-hardened bushings provide relubrication intervals of up to 550 hours, depending on the operating conditions.

Mounting

Mounting of case-hardened bushings

The bushing must be installed with an interference fit in the housing, according to the manufacturing tolerances of outer diameter u6 and inner diameter C8 achieved through the case hardening, quenching and finish grinding processes.

Installation Mounting

  1. Press-fit assemblyThe bushing is press-fitted into the housing, in accordance with the specified dimensional tolerances of Ø external u6 and Ø internal C8, achieved through the carburizing, hardening and grinding process of the finished component.
