DJA MOND bimetallic bushings

BJ.. Series – Steel/Bronze Alloy ISO 3547

  • ISO 3547 Standard
  • High load capacity
  • Up to 260°C

Bimetallic bushings are three-layer steel and bronze plain bearings (steel backing and sintered bronze sliding layer) manufactured according to ISO 3547, designed for high sliding speeds and operating temperatures up to 260°C. DJA MOND BJ.. bimetallic bushings combine high load capacity with excellent heat dissipation, making them particularly suitable for the automotive industry and for the manufacture of engines, pumps, compressors and agricultural machinery. Compared with other relubricable bushings (POM multilayer, case-hardened or rolled bronze solutions), bimetallic bushings are the preferred choice when high sliding speeds and high-temperature resistance are required.

Manufactured according to ISO 3547, BJ.. bimetallic bushings offer a maximum static load capacity C₀ of 120 N/mm² and a maximum dynamic load capacity C of 65 N/mm². The bronze sliding layer has a hardness of 70–100 HB and a maximum operating temperature of 260°C.

Performances

Design and performance features

Soluzioni progettate per durare, ridurre la manutenzione e mantenere prestazioni costanti.

Benefit

Construction

Three functional layers Sintered bronze powder layer, providing good wear resistance and excellent load-carrying performance; steel backing, ensuring high load capacity and efficient heat dissipation; optional 0.002 mm copper plating for improved corrosion resistance.

Benefit

Speed

High sliding speeds The steel/bronze bimetallic alloy enables high sliding speeds while maintaining reliable performance.

Benefit

Load

High load capacity C₀ max 120 N/mm² and C max 65 N/mm², with a bronze sliding layer hardness of 70–100 HB.

Benefit

Temperature

Bimetallic bushings are suitable for high-temperature operating conditions, making them ideal for demanding automotive and industrial applications.

Mounting

Installation of bimetallic bushings

BJ.. bushings must be installed in an H7 housing with an f7 shaft. After installation, the bushing bore tolerance will be H8.

Installation Mounting

  1. Press-fit installation in H7 housingCheck that the shaft complies with the f7 tolerance before bushing insertion.
  2. Verification of bore tolerance after installationOnce mounted, the bore will have an H8 tolerance: verify the resulting operating clearance.
