DJA MOND multilayer POM relubricable bushings

PT..RK Series

  • Pre-lubricated
  • Low maintenance
  • Suitable for applications with impact loads

POM multilayer bushings are three-layer plain bearings consisting of a steel backing, a porous bronze intermediate layer and a POM or composite PEEK sliding layer. Pre-lubricated and designed for low maintenance, they are suitable for applications involving shock loads and high sliding speeds. POM plain bearings require only a small amount of lubricant to provide reliable long-term performance. DJA MOND PT..RK multilayer POM bushings offer low wear, excellent anti-friction performance and high PV values. Compared with other relubricable bushings (case-hardened, bronze wrapped or bimetallic bushings), POM multilayer bushings are the ideal solution where minimal lubrication and good shock-load capability are more important than maximum load capacity or extreme temperature resistance.

The backing of these POM plain bearings is manufactured from low-carbon steel and coated with a 2 μm copper layer or alternative protective treatment. A sintered porous bronze layer is then applied, providing support for the POM or composite PEEK sliding layer with lubricant reservoirs. Initial greasing is required, while periodic relubrication is generally not necessary. However, continuous lubricant supply can further extend the service life of the bearing.

Versions

Three multilayer bushing variants for specific machining requirements

The low-maintenance "RK" sliding material is available in three versions.

  1. RK - Ready for mounting

Three-layer structure consisting of a steel backing, a porous bronze intermediate layer and a POM/PEEK sliding layer with lubricant reservoirs, designed to retain grease and collect any contaminants between the shaft and the bushing. Ready for mounting Lubricant reservoirs

  2. RKT - With machining allowance

Same structure as the RK version, featuring a sliding layer with an average additional thickness of more than 0.15 mm. The machining allowance can be internally machined with high precision to compensate for misalignment or achieve tighter running clearances. Machining allowance For housings or shafts with less precise machining

  3. RK3 / RKT3 - Special version without lubricant pockets

Available upon request, this special version differs from the previous versions due to the absence of lubricant reservoirs in the sliding layer. Upon request Without lubricant reservoirs

Performances

Design and performance features

Soluzioni progettate per durare, ridurre la manutenzione e mantenere prestazioni costanti.

Benefit

Maintenance

Pre-lubricated, low maintenance They require only initial lubrication with grease and do not require periodic relubrication. However, continuous lubricant supply can further extend the service life of the bearing.

Benefit

Friction and wear

Low wear rate Excellent friction performance, low wear rate, high load capacity, negligible stick-slip effect and minimal running clearance.

Benefit

Resistance

Good chemical resistance, low water and moisture absorption, high PV capability and excellent anti-friction performance, even in the presence of impact loads.

Benefit

Construction

The POM/PEEK sliding surface features lubricant reservoirs designed to retain grease and collect any contaminants trapped between the shaft and the bushing.

Mounting

Mounting of POM multilayer bushings

POM multilayer bushings must be installed with an interference fit, with the joint area positioned opposite the load direction. A stepped mandrel should be used, and the housing should be provided with 15°/20° lead-in chamfers to facilitate assembly.

Installation Mounting

  1. Installation methods15°/20° lead-in chamfers on the H7 tolerance housing bore to facilitate assembly without damaging the sliding layer.
  2. 02 | Turning and boring operations (if required)Dry machining. Cutting speed: 100–150 m/min. Feed rate: 0.05 mm/rev. Depth of cut: 0.1 mm. Carbide cutting tool.
