JFK Combined needle roller bearings

JFK rolling bearings

  • Radial and axial loads
  • Bidirectional
  • Without axial clearance

Combined bearings integrate a radial needle roller cage and one or two axial cylindrical roller cages into a single component. This design allows the simultaneous support of radial forces, bidirectional axial forces, and tilting moments. This compact single-element solution eliminates the need to combine separate radial and axial bearings, reducing axial dimensions and simplifying the design.

JFK Group offers combined bearings in screw-mounted and non-screw-mounted versions, pre-adjusted with zero axial clearance. The screw-mounted version allows the bearing to be directly screwed to the supporting structure through the thread on the outer ring, while the non-screw-mounted version requires a dedicated housing. Available with flanged or cylindrical outer ring.

Combined needle roller bearings are typically used in machine tools, positioning systems, and applications requiring the management of combined loads within a reduced installation space.

Versions

How to choose the right combined bearing

The choice mainly depends on the mounting method and the available housing.

  1. Screw-mounted version

Outer ring with external thread, allowing the bearing to be screwed directly onto the supporting structure. Simplifies installation by eliminating the need for a dedicated housing with precise tolerances. Pre-adjusted with zero axial clearance. External thread on the outer ring · Direct mounting · Simplified installation

  2. Non-screw-mounted version

Cylindrical or flanged outer ring for mounting in a dedicated housing. Pre-adjusted with zero axial clearance. Suitable for applications requiring higher positioning accuracy or where screw mounting is not feasible. Cylindrical or flanged outer ring · Dedicated housing · High precision

Performances

Design and performance features

Integrated radial needle roller cage and axial cylindrical roller cages for combined loads in a single compact element, pre-adjusted with zero axial clearance.

Benefit

Load

Radial loads, bidirectional axial loads and tilting moments The combination of a radial needle roller cage and axial cylindrical roller cages allows the bearing to simultaneously support radial loads, axial loads in both directions, and tilting moments in a single component.

Benefit

Axial clearance

Pre-adjusted with zero axial clearance Radial-axial combined bearings are factory pre-adjusted with zero axial clearance, ensuring consistent and repeatable performance without the need for adjustment during installation.

Benefit

Construction

Compact solution, replacing two separate bearings The integration of radial and axial functions into a single component in radial-axial combined bearings reduces installation space and simplifies the design compared to the use of separate bearings.

Benefit

Fixing

Screw-mounted or housing-mounted The screw-mounted version allows direct fixing through the thread, while the non-screw-mounted version requires a housing with suitable tolerances.

Benefit

Outer ring

Flanged or cylindrical Available with a flanged outer ring for flange mounting or a cylindrical outer ring for housing mounting.

Mounting

Mounting of combined needle roller Bearings

Combined bearings are pre-adjusted with zero axial clearance and do not require adjustment during mounting. The screw-mounted version is installed by screwing the outer ring onto the supporting structure; the non-screw-mounted version is installed in the housing by press fitting or with an interference fit.

Installation Mounting

  1. Installation methodsScrew the bearing onto the supporting structure using the thread on the outer ring. No dedicated housing is required. Verify the correct tightening torque to ensure precise positioning.
  2. Installation methodsInstall the bearing in the dedicated housing by press fitting or with an interference fit, applying the mounting force to the outer ring. The housing must comply with the required dimensional tolerances.
