JFK Cam rollers

JFK ball bearings

  • Linear guides and sliding systems
  • Single row and double row cam rollers
  • Lifetime lubricated

JFK cam rollers are sliding units designed for applications on guideways, linear systems, and cam tracks. The internal design is based on single-row bearings for the 3612 and LR2 series, and double-row bearings for the LR50/305, LR52/306, and LR53m series, with the outer ring available in cylindrical or spherical versions. The spherical outer ring, with a 400 mm crowning radius for the 3612/305/306 series and 500 mm for the LR series, compensates for lateral alignment errors during operation.

Cam rollers are supplied as standard with NBR synthetic rubber seals (–30°C/+110°C) and lithium-based grease with good anti-rust properties. Under normal operating conditions, they are maintenance-free; relubrication is required in the presence of moisture, solid contaminants, or temperatures above +70°C for extended periods. A lubrication hole is provided on the inner ring for this purpose.

Versions

How to choose the right cam roller

The choice between single-row and double-row versions depends on the required load capacity and the type of load. Both versions are available with cylindrical or spherical outer rings.

  1. Single row cam rollers

3612 and LR2 series. Internal design based on single-row ball bearings with 2RSR or PP seals as standard. Available with a cylindrical outer ring (no suffix) or spherical outer ring (R suffix for the 3612 series, U suffix for the LR2 series), with a crowning radius of 400 mm (3612) and 500 mm (LR2). Pressed steel cages as standard. Single-row · Cylindrical or spherical outer ring · 2RSR/PP seals

  2. Double row cam rollers

LR50/305, LR52/306, LR53 series. Internal design based on double-row angular contact ball bearings with a 25° contact angle. Polyamide 6.6 cages as standard. Available with pressed steel shields (ZZ/KDD) or contact seals (2RSR/NPP). Cylindrical or spherical outer ring with a crowning radius of 400 mm (305/306) and 500 mm (LR series). Double-row · 25° contact angle · High load capacity

Performances

Design and performance features

The compact design of JFK cam rollers, also known as guide rollers, together with integrated seals and lifetime lubrication, ensures reliable operation on guideways and cam tracks.

Benefit

Tolerances

Normal (PN) as standard

Benefit

Load

Predominantly radial loads Cam rollers are designed to withstand predominantly radial loads. Axial loads acting on the outer ring generate tilting moments that can reduce the service life of the roller.

Benefit

Seal

NBR seals as standard NBR synthetic rubber seals with high wear resistance, suitable for temperatures from –30°C to +110°C. Alternative seal materials are available on request.

Benefit

Lubrication

Lithium-based grease · Lifetime lubricated Lithium-based grease with good anti-rust properties, suitable for temperatures from –30°C to +110°C. Maintenance-free under normal operating conditions. Relubrication is possible through the hole in the inner ring when required.

Benefit

Outer ring

Cylindrical or spherical, as desired The spherical outer ring compensates for lateral alignment errors. Crowning radius: 400 mm for the 3612/305/306 series and 500 mm for the LR series.

Benefit

Tolerance

Manufactured to Normal (PN) tolerance as standard. P6 and P5 tolerance classes are available on request for smaller versions.

Benefit

Internal clearance

Normal CN as standard Manufactured with normal internal clearance (CN) as standard. Different internal clearances are available on request.

Mounting

Installation of JFK cam rollers

Cam rollers are generally mounted on a pin or shaft secured to the structure, with locking provided by a nut or central screw. The choice between a cylindrical and spherical outer ring should be made during installation based on the actual alignment between the roller and the guide.

Installation Mounting

  1. Mounting on a pin or shaftThe cam roller is mounted on a pin or shaft secured to the structure and axially fixed with a nut or central screw, ensuring that the outer ring rotates freely relative to the fixed inner ring.
  2. Outer ring selection during installationIn the presence of lateral misalignment between the roller and the guide, the version with a spherical outer ring should be preferred (400 or 500 mm crowning radius, depending on the series), as it compensates for alignment errors without overloading the roller.
