Cylindrical, tapered, spherical and thrust roller bearings: a complete range for high-load applications.

Roller bearings are rolling bearings in which the rolling elements are rollers - cylindrical, tapered or spherical - designed to support very high radial and combined loads, higher than ball bearings with the same envelope dimensions. JFK roller bearings cover the complete range of high-load applications: from cylindrical roller bearings for transmissions and presses, to tapered roller bearings for high combined loads, spherical roller bearings for compensating significant misalignment, and thrust roller bearings for high-intensity pure axial loads. Each JFK roller bearing is selected to ensure verified quality, and is backed by availability and technical support throughout every stage of the project.

Five types for every operating condition

The five types in this range differ in internal design, rolling element type, load direction capability and application field. Cylindrical roller bearings are the preferred choice for high radial loads and medium-to-high speeds. Tapered roller bearings excel in applications with combined loads and tilting moments. Spherical roller bearings tolerate significant angular misalignment even under heavy loads. Cylindrical roller thrust bearings handle high-intensity pure axial loads. Spherical roller thrust bearings complete the range for applications involving misalignment and combined axial loads.

JFK Spherical roller bearings

JFK Spherical roller bearings

Two rows of barrel rollers on a spherical raceway of the outer ring compensate for significant angular misalignment without compromising performance. Spherical roller bearings support high radial loads and axial loads in both directions. Available with cylindrical or tapered bore, with adapter sleeves or withdrawal sleeves.
JFK Self-Aligning Spherical Roller Thrust Bearings

JFK Self-Aligning Spherical Roller Thrust Bearings

Single-direction separable spherical roller thrust bearings with asymmetric rollers. They transmit forces with a contact angle towards the central axis, supporting radial loads up to 55% of the applied axial loads. Spherical roller thrust bearings are suitable for heavy vertical shafts and moulding machines.

SELECTION GUIDE

Start by identifying the operating conditions

JFK roller bearings cover a wide range of applications: from very high radial loads to pure axial thrusts, from applications with significant misalignment to those requiring extreme rigidity and shock resistance. Start from the operating condition that best describes your application.

High radial load capacity

The cylindrical roller bearing is the ideal solution when radial load is the critical parameter. The wide range of designs (N, NU, NJ, NUP) allows the most suitable level of axial guidance to be selected for each application.

Combined loads or tilting moments

When axial load is combined with radial load or tilting moments are present, tapered roller bearings are the right solution. The contact angle determines the axial load capacity: the larger the angle, the higher the axial load that can be supported.

Significant misalignments between the housing and the shaft

Spherical roller bearings compensate significant angular misalignment without compromising performance, even under very high radial loads. The natural choice for construction machinery, rolling mills and heavy-duty transmissions.

Very high axial forces

When axial forces are high and thrust ball bearings are not sufficient, cylindrical roller thrust bearings provide high rigidity, resistance to shock loads and reduced axial space requirements. For applications with misalignment, the spherical roller thrust bearing version provides the same load capacity with tolerance to alignment errors.
