DJA MOND Fibre Bushings

Max 140 MPa

  • Very high load capacity
  • Long-term dry-running operation

Fibre bushings are plain bearings manufactured with a glass fibre and epoxy resin structure, designed to withstand loads up to 140 MPa in dry-running conditions. The DJA MOND FWB.. series features an outer layer made of high-strength glass fibres reinforced with epoxy resin, combined with a lubricating layer consisting of PTFE-wrapped fibres or special self-lubricating fibres. This construction provides outstanding wear resistance and a low coefficient of friction in high-load, low-speed applications. Compared with other self-lubricating materials (sintered bronze, multilayer PTFE and engineering polymers), fibre bushings offer the highest load-carrying capacity at low speeds, making them the preferred solution when load capacity is the primary design requirement rather than rotational speed.

Versions

Technical specifications of fibre bushings

Le versioni differiscono per materiale, capacità di carico, temperatura massima e condizioni d’impiego.

  1. Base material

High-strength glass fibre reinforced with epoxy resin; lubricating layer made of PTFE-wrapped fibres or special self-lubricating fibres.

  2. Maximum load capacity

    140 MPa

  3. Coefficient of friction

0.03 – 0.12 (depending on load, displacement method, sliding speed and roughness of the mating surfaces)

  4. Lubrication

Not required (extended dry operation without oil lubrication)

Performances

Design and performance features

Soluzioni progettate per durare, ridurre la manutenzione e mantenere prestazioni costanti.

Benefit

Load

Up to 140 MPa, with excellent wear resistance even under high-load, low-speed conditions.

Benefit

Friction

Reduced coefficient of friction Between 0.03 and 0.12: it decreases with increasing load under rotational movement conditions. The value depends on load, displacement method, sliding speed and roughness of the mating surfaces.

Benefit

Running-in

Wear concentrated during the initial phase During the running-in phase, the lubricant is transferred from the inner lining, forming a smooth lubricating surface. After running-in, the bearing remains stable with no significant wear.

Benefit

Chemical resistance

Excellent chemical resistance Together with their high load-carrying capacity, this makes fibre bushings a reliable and robust solution even in chemically aggressive environments.

Benefit

Lubrication
